This version of Sleeping Beauty, as with all the other books in this series, was retold by educationalist Vera Southgate. It was illustrated by Eric Winter, who illustrated the previous two Ladybird books in this series as well as the majority of the later books. Although Eric Winter's artwork is among the most sought-after of all the Ladybird illustrators, very little is known of the man or his other work.
